EAP - English for Academic Purposes & Pathways Program
30 hours total / week
15 hrs. of instruction in the morning with 10 hours of elective content in the afternoon
(plus 5 hrs. monitored English*)
9 am – 3 pm

Assessment required to determine the length of study for Pathways Exit.
Description
The EAP and Pathways Programs are for students interested in passing the IELTS or entering post-secondary institutions..
The program consists of academic skills training in all areas, and introduces students to a variety of topics, skills and strategies through four themes, which include:
- General academic content such as reading, summarizing, paraphrasing, synthesizing and critiquing, essay and report writing, and presentation skills in different subjects areas (biology, literature, technology, communications, etc.)
- Elective Content which may include phonetics, pronunciation, debating, drama and others.
- Post-secondary academic skills, such as critical thinking, note taking, discussion and research skills, plagiarism, the use of resources and aides, goal setting, research, etc.
- Canadian campus culture (level of formality with professors, dorm life, frosh week, sports and clubs, places, etc.)
- Wellbeing Advice (living away from home, social life, staying in touch with family, getting involved, taking care of yourself, sociolinguistic and socio-cultural connotations)
Pathways Program
Through partner agreements with post-secondary Canadian institutions, all of which include an IELTS waiver, we are able to transition a student swiftly to a public or private college or university. Our partners include: Algonquin College, Sprott Shaw College, JRS College, Le Cordon Bleu (Ottawa), University of Manitoba, Wilfrid Laurier University and Richard Robinson Fashion Design Academy.

Business English
15 to 30 hours total / week
Flexible schedule that can be adapted to individual student needs

Prerequisite:: CEFR B2 / IELTS 5.5 minimum
Description
Focuses on skills required to be successful in a business setting and introduces students to a variety of topics, skills and strategies including communication foundations, writing and revising skills, corresponding at work, reporting data, development of speaking skills, communications for employment (resumes, interviews and follow-up.
English in the Workplace
10 to 30 hours total / week

Prerequisite: CEFR B2 / IELTS 5.5 minimum
Description
This program is adapted to and based on job description and requirements. It is designed to meet English-language needs in the workplace, which will allow participants to carry out their professional duties to their full potential. Our teachers have extensive, solid experience teaching corporate, political staff as well as medical and medical personnel. Course content is customized to specific business environments and skill areas may include client negotiating, report writing and delivery of oral presentations. English for International Communication & Public Speaking
5 to 10 hours total / week
Can be combined with General English courses

Description
Our exam preparation classes, which can be adapted and personalized to students’ specific needs, are designed to teach prospective test candidates the techniques , strategies and skills to prepare for, focus on and succeed in their exam goals.
